Pennsylvania Smoked Sausage and Noodles

My uncle grew up in Pennsylvania and shared this incredibly comforting dinner. Just 4 ingredients come together for a hearty, savory meal that’s perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz egg noodles
  • 14 oz smoked sausage, cut into bite-sized cubes
  • 1 packet brown gravy mix
  • 2 cups beef broth

Instructions

  1. Cook the egg noodles according to package directions and drain.
  2. Brown the smoked sausage cubes in a skillet until lightly crisp on the edges.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together the brown gravy mix and beef broth.
  4. Add the cooked noodles and browned sausage to the slow cooker.
  5. Pour the gravy mixture over the top and stir gently.
  6. Cover and cook on LOW for 1–2 hours until heated through and flavors combine.
  7. Stir before serving.

Serving Suggestions

  • Serve with buttered green beans.
  • Add sautéed onions or mushrooms for extra flavor.
  • Pair with warm dinner rolls.

Tip: Kielbasa works especially well in this recipe and gives it a traditional Pennsylvania-style flavor.
