Pennsylvania Smoked Sausage and Noodles
My uncle grew up in Pennsylvania and shared this incredibly comforting dinner. Just 4 ingredients come together for a hearty, savory meal that’s perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
- 12 oz egg noodles
- 14 oz smoked sausage, cut into bite-sized cubes
- 1 packet brown gravy mix
- 2 cups beef broth
Instructions
- Cook the egg noodles according to package directions and drain.
- Brown the smoked sausage cubes in a skillet until lightly crisp on the edges.
- In a bowl, whisk together the brown gravy mix and beef broth.
- Add the cooked noodles and browned sausage to the slow cooker.
- Pour the gravy mixture over the top and stir gently.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 1–2 hours until heated through and flavors combine.
- Stir before serving.
Serving Suggestions
- Serve with buttered green beans.
- Add sautéed onions or mushrooms for extra flavor.
- Pair with warm dinner rolls.
Tip: Kielbasa works especially well in this recipe and gives it a traditional Pennsylvania-style flavor.
