Creamy Chicken Casserole

This easy comfort-food casserole combines tender chicken breast with a rich creamy sauce and melted cheese. A simple family dinner that’s hearty, satisfying, and perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs (900 g) boneless skinless chicken breasts, diced
  • 2 cans (10.5 oz each) cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix
  • 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Lightly grease a 9×13-inch ceramic baking dish.
  3. Spread the diced chicken evenly in the baking dish.
  4. In a bowl, mix together the cream of chicken soup, sour cream, ranch seasoning, and black pepper.
  5. Pour the mixture evenly over the chicken.
  6. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 40 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and continue baking for 15–20 minutes, until the chicken is fully cooked and the cheese is bubbly.
  9. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.

Optional Additions

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 cup cooked bacon crumbles
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • Fresh parsley for garnish
