Slow Cooker Brown Gravy Salisbury Steak
This easy slow cooker dinner transforms simple beef patties into tender, flavorful Salisbury steaks smothered in rich brown onion gravy. It’s a comforting family meal that’s perfect served over mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles.
Ingredients
- 1½ pounds ground beef
- 1 packet (1 oz) brown gravy mix
- 1 packet (1 oz) onion soup mix
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
- 2 tablespoons cold water (optional)
Instructions
- Shape the ground beef into 5–6 oval patties.
- Place the sliced onions in the bottom of the slow cooker.
- Arrange the beef patties over the onions.
- Sprinkle the brown gravy mix and onion soup mix evenly over the patties.
- Pour the beef broth around the meat.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 6–7 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours, until the patties are tender and fully cooked.
- If you’d like a thicker gravy, whisk together the cornstarch and cold water. Stir it into the slow cooker during the last 20 minutes of cooking on HIGH.
- Serve hot over mashed potatoes, buttered noodles, or steamed rice.
