Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak with Mushroom Gravy

Juicy homemade beef patties slow-cooked in a rich, creamy mushroom gravy until fork-tender. This easy comfort food recipe is perfect for busy weeknights and pairs beautifully with mashed potatoes, rice, or buttered noodles.

Ingredients

  • 1½ pounds ground beef
  • 1 packet onion soup mix
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
  • 2 tablespoons water (if using cornstarch)

Instructions

  1. Shape the ground beef into 4 to 6 thick oval patties.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the cream of mushroom soup, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and black pepper.
  3. Spread the sliced mushrooms across the bottom of the slow cooker.
  4. Pour half of the gravy mixture over the mushrooms.
  5. Place the beef patties on top.
  6. Pour the remaining gravy over the patties.
  7. Cover and cook on LOW for 6–7 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours.
  8. If a thicker gravy is desired, mix the cornstarch with the water, stir it into the slow cooker during the last 20 minutes, and cook until thickened.
  9. Serve hot with mashed potatoes, egg noodles, or steamed rice.
