Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak with Mushroom Gravy
Juicy homemade beef patties slow-cooked in a rich, creamy mushroom gravy until fork-tender. This easy comfort food recipe is perfect for busy weeknights and pairs beautifully with mashed potatoes, rice, or buttered noodles.
Ingredients
- 1½ pounds ground beef
- 1 packet onion soup mix
- 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
- 2 tablespoons water (if using cornstarch)
Instructions
- Shape the ground beef into 4 to 6 thick oval patties.
- In a bowl, whisk together the cream of mushroom soup, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and black pepper.
- Spread the sliced mushrooms across the bottom of the slow cooker.
- Pour half of the gravy mixture over the mushrooms.
- Place the beef patties on top.
- Pour the remaining gravy over the patties.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 6–7 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours.
- If a thicker gravy is desired, mix the cornstarch with the water, stir it into the slow cooker during the last 20 minutes, and cook until thickened.
- Serve hot with mashed potatoes, egg noodles, or steamed rice.
