Budget Slow Cooker Chili

This hearty slow cooker chili is packed with ground beef, beans, and rich tomato flavor. It is one of those classic inexpensive meals that tastes like it simmered all day — warm, filling, and perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 cans kidney beans, drained
  • 1 large can diced tomatoes
  • 1 packet chili seasoning mix

Optional Add-Ins

  • 1 diced onion
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Shredded cheddar cheese
  • Sour cream

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet and drain excess grease.
  2. Add cooked beef to the slow cooker.
  3. Stir in kidney beans, diced tomatoes, and chili seasoning.
  4. Mix everything well.
  5. Cover and cook on LOW for 6–7 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours.
  6. Serve hot with cheese, sour cream, or cornbread if desired.
Tip: This chili tastes even better the next day and freezes very well.
