Budget Pork Chops and Potatoes Slow Cooker Dinner
Budget Pork Chops and Potatoes Slow Cooker Dinner
My uncle showed me how he fed his kids for under five dollars with this no-fuss dump-and-go dinner. Tender pork chops and potatoes slowly cook together in a savory gravy for an easy family meal.
Ingredients
- 4 bone-in pork chops
- 4 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 1 packet onion soup mix
- 1 cup water
Instructions
- Place the cubed potatoes in the bottom of the slow cooker.
- Arrange the pork chops on top of the potatoes.
- Sprinkle the onion soup mix evenly over everything.
- Pour the water around the sides.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 6–8 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours.
- Cook until the pork is tender and the potatoes are soft.
- Serve with the cooking juices spooned over the top.
Serving Suggestions
- Add steamed green beans or carrots on the side.
- Serve with crusty bread to soak up the gravy.
- Sprinkle with fresh parsley before serving.
Tip: For extra flavor, brown the pork chops in a skillet for 2–3 minutes per side before placing them in the slow cooker.
