Beef Gravy Potato Casserole

Pour savory beef gravy over sliced russet potatoes for a cozy, old-fashioned casserole that is simple, filling, and perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 4 large russet potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups prepared beef gravy
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Lightly grease a 9×13-inch glass baking dish.
  3. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the bottom of the dish.
  4. Top with half of the sliced onions.
  5. Pour over half of the beef gravy.
  6. Repeat with the remaining potatoes, onions, and gravy.
  7. Cover tightly with aluminum foil.
  8. Bake for 60 minutes.
  9. Remove the foil and continue baking for 20–30 minutes, until the potatoes are tender and the top is lightly browned.
  10. Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Serving Suggestions

  • Serve alongside roast beef, pork chops, or grilled chicken.
  • Add shredded cheddar cheese during the last 10 minutes for a cheesy version.
  • Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Tip: A pinch of garlic powder and black pepper mixed into the gravy adds even more flavor.
