Slow Cooker Chicken and Cabbage

Layer shredded cabbage under chicken legs, along with a few simple pantry staples, for a hearty slow cooker supper that is effortless, comforting, and full of flavor.

Ingredients

  • 6 chicken legs
  • 1 small head cabbage, shredded
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Place shredded cabbage in the bottom of the slow cooker.
  2. Top with sliced onions.
  3. Arrange chicken legs over the cabbage mixture.
  4. Pour chicken broth into the slow cooker.
  5. Add butter on top.
  6. Season with garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  7. Cover and cook on LOW for 6-7 hours or HIGH for 4 hours.
  8. Serve hot with the tender cabbage and broth spooned over the chicken.

  • Add carrots or potatoes directly into the slow cooker
