This old-fashioned comfort dish combines sweet baked beans with tender apples for a surprisingly delicious side or light meal. Made with just a few pantry ingredients, it’s perfect for potlucks, family dinners, or cozy fall evenings.
Ingredients
- 2 cans (28 oz total) baked beans
- 2 medium apples, cored and cut into wedges
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Pour the baked beans into the baking dish.
- Add the apple wedges and gently stir to combine.
- Sprinkle the brown sugar evenly over the top.
- Drizzle with the melted butter and dust with cinnamon if using.
- Bake uncovered for 40–45 minutes, until the apples are tender and the sauce is bubbling.
- Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
