This old-fashioned comfort dish combines sweet baked beans with tender apples for a surprisingly delicious side or light meal. Made with just a few pantry ingredients, it’s perfect for potlucks, family dinners, or cozy fall evenings.

Ingredients

  • 2 cans (28 oz total) baked beans
  • 2 medium apples, cored and cut into wedges
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  3. Pour the baked beans into the baking dish.
  4. Add the apple wedges and gently stir to combine.
  5. Sprinkle the brown sugar evenly over the top.
  6. Drizzle with the melted butter and dust with cinnamon if using.
  7. Bake uncovered for 40–45 minutes, until the apples are tender and the sauce is bubbling.
  8. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
