Slow Cooker Amish Buttered Egg Noodles

These rich, buttery Amish-style egg noodles are the ultimate comfort food. Made with just a few pantry staples, they cook slowly into a creamy, velvety side dish that’s perfect alongside roasted chicken, beef, pork, or even enjoyed on its own.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz wide egg noodles
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, cut into pieces
  • 1 cup heavy cream (optional for extra creaminess)
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • Salt, to taste
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Spray the inside of the slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Add the chicken broth and butter.
  3. Cover and cook on HIGH for about 20 minutes until the butter has melted.
  4. Stir in the egg noodles, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.
  5. Cover and cook on HIGH for 1½–2 hours, stirring once or twice during cooking.
  6. When the noodles are tender, stir in the heavy cream if using.
  7. Season with salt to taste and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
