Slow Cooker Amish Buttered Egg Noodles
These rich, buttery Amish-style egg noodles are the ultimate comfort food. Made with just a few pantry staples, they cook slowly into a creamy, velvety side dish that’s perfect alongside roasted chicken, beef, pork, or even enjoyed on its own.
Ingredients
- 12 oz wide egg noodles
- 4 cups chicken broth
- ½ cup unsalted butter, cut into pieces
- 1 cup heavy cream (optional for extra creaminess)
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp black pepper
- Salt, to taste
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Spray the inside of the slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray.
- Add the chicken broth and butter.
- Cover and cook on HIGH for about 20 minutes until the butter has melted.
- Stir in the egg noodles, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.
- Cover and cook on HIGH for 1½–2 hours, stirring once or twice during cooking.
- When the noodles are tender, stir in the heavy cream if using.
- Season with salt to taste and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
