Cream Cheese Squares
Ingredients:
- 2 cans of refrigerated crescent roll dough (8 ounces each)
- 2 packages of cream cheese (8 ounces each, at room temperature)
- 1 and 1/4 cups of sugar (divided)
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup of melted margarine
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder
Instructions:
- Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish to prevent sticking.
- Prepare the Crescent Roll Base: Open one can of crescent roll dough and carefully spread it evenly across the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Set the second can aside for later use.
- Make the Cream Cheese Filling: In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, 1 cup of sugar, and vanilla extract. Blend until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Spread this delicious cream cheese mixture over the crescent roll layer in the baking dish.
- Add the Top Layer of Dough: Open the second can of crescent roll dough and lay it on top of the cream cheese layer, ensuring not to press it down.
- Drizzle with Margarine: Pour the melted margarine evenly over the entire dish, allowing it to soak into the layers.
- Prepare the Cinnamon Sugar Topping: In a small bowl, mix the remaining 1/4 cup of sugar with the cinnamon powder. Sprinkle this mixture generously on top of the dish for added flavor.
- Bake: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and crispy.
- Serve: Once baked, allow the dish to cool slightly before cutting it into 24 squares. Enjoy this delightful treat!
These Cream Cheese Squares are perfect for any occasion, offering a rich and creamy filling with a deliciously crispy top.
