Slow Cooker Chicken Drumsticks and Rice
A simple dump-and-go family dinner where chicken drumsticks cook slowly over seasoned rice in a creamy broth until everything is tender and flavorful.
Ingredients
- 4 chicken drumsticks
- 1½ cups uncooked white rice
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 can (10.5 oz / 300 g) cream of chicken soup
- 1 packet dry onion soup mix
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Lightly grease the slow cooker.
- Spread the uncooked rice evenly across the bottom.
- Arrange the chicken drumsticks on top of the rice.
- In a bowl, whisk together the chicken broth, cream of chicken soup, onion soup mix, and black pepper.
- Pour the mixture evenly over the chicken and rice.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 5–6 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours.
- Check that the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 74°C (165°F).
- Fluff the rice gently and serve hot.
Optional Additions
- 1 cup frozen peas
- 1 cup diced carrots
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Fresh parsley for garnish
