Cheesy Potato Bake (Comfort Classic)

Ingredients:

  • 4–5 medium potatoes (thinly sliced)
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (mozzarella or cheddar)
  • 1 cup heavy cream or milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves garlic (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper
  • Fresh herbs (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Grease a baking dish with butter.
  3. Layer sliced potatoes evenly in the dish.
  4. Season each layer with salt, pepper, and garlic.
  5. Pour cream or milk over the potatoes.
  6. Add shredded cheese on top.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 40 minutes.
  8. Remove foil and bake another 20 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  9. Let it rest 10 minutes before cutting.

  • Slice potatoes thin for even cooking.
  • Do not skip resting time (helps it hold shape).
  • Use mozzarella for stretch or cheddar for stronger flavor.
