Easy Asian-Style Foil Wrapped Chicken (Takeout Fakeout)

This simple and flavorful dish is inspired by classic takeout favorites. With just a few ingredients, everything is wrapped in foil and slow-cooked to lock in juicy, savory flavors. Perfect for busy days when you want something delicious with minimal effort.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless chicken breasts (or thighs)
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey (or brown sugar)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional, for topping)

Instructions

Start by laying out pieces of aluminum foil large enough to wrap each portion of chicken.

Place one piece of chicken in the center of each foil sheet.

In a small bowl, mix together soy sauce, honey, and minced garlic.

Pour the mixture evenly over each piece of chicken, making sure it is well coated.

Wrap each portion tightly in foil to seal in all the juices and flavor.

Place the wrapped chicken into a slow cooker.

Cook on low for 5–6 hours or on high for 3–4 hours until the chicken is tender and fully cooked.

Carefully open the foil packets (watch for steam), sprinkle with sesame seeds, and serve.

Serving

Serve with rice or noodles and drizzle the juices from the foil over the top for extra flavor.

Result

Tender, juicy chicken infused with sweet and savory Asian-inspired flavors—all made with minimal effort and just a few ingredients.
