Slow Cooker French Onion Pork Chops
These tender slow cooker pork chops are smothered in sweet caramelized onions and a rich savory gravy. With just a handful of simple ingredients, this comforting dinner is perfect for busy weeknights and tastes like it simmered all day.
Ingredients
- 4 boneless pork chops (about 1 inch thick)
- 2 large onions, thinly sliced
- 1 packet (1 oz) onion soup mix
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch + 2 tablespoons water (optional, for thickening)
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Season the pork chops with black pepper.
- Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and sear the pork chops for 2–3 minutes per side until lightly browned.
- Place the sliced onions and garlic in the bottom of the slow cooker.
- Lay the pork chops on top of the onions.
- Whisk together the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and onion soup mix, then pour over the pork chops.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 6–7 hours or on HIGH for 3–4 hours.
- If you prefer a thicker gravy, stir together the cornstarch and water, mix it into the slow cooker during the last 20 minutes, and cook until thickened.
- Spoon the onions and gravy over the pork chops before serving.
