Slow Cooker French Onion Pork Chops

These tender slow cooker pork chops are smothered in sweet caramelized onions and a rich savory gravy. With just a handful of simple ingredients, this comforting dinner is perfect for busy weeknights and tastes like it simmered all day.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless pork chops (about 1 inch thick)
  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 packet (1 oz) onion soup mix
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch + 2 tablespoons water (optional, for thickening)
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Season the pork chops with black pepper.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and sear the pork chops for 2–3 minutes per side until lightly browned.
  3. Place the sliced onions and garlic in the bottom of the slow cooker.
  4. Lay the pork chops on top of the onions.
  5. Whisk together the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and onion soup mix, then pour over the pork chops.
  6. Cover and cook on LOW for 6–7 hours or on HIGH for 3–4 hours.
  7. If you prefer a thicker gravy, stir together the cornstarch and water, mix it into the slow cooker during the last 20 minutes, and cook until thickened.
  8. Spoon the onions and gravy over the pork chops before serving.
