Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 lb Italian sausage
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (24 oz) jar marinara sauce
  • 1 (15 oz) container ricotta cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 9 lasagna noodles, cooked and drained
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish 🌿

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Set oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cook meat: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground beef, sausage, and onion. Cook until browned. Add garlic, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  3. Make sauce: Stir in marinara sauce and let it simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Mix cheese filling: In a bowl, combine ricotta, egg, and Parmesan. Stir until smooth.
  5. Assemble layers: Spread a thin layer of sauce on the bottom of the dish. Add noodles, ricotta mixture, meat sauce, and mozzarella. Repeat until all ingredients are used, finishing with cheese on top.
  6. Bake: Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake another 15 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  7. Cool & serve: Let rest 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh parsley.
