The famous Southern dessert from Steel Magnolias β€”
so easy you don’t even need a recipe card. Just cups, love, and a warm oven ❀️

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup fruit (fruit cocktail, crushed pineapple, or pineapple & cherries)
  • Β½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • Optional: pinch of salt or splash of vanilla

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C).
  2. Grease an 8–9 inch baking dish or pie plate.
  3. Spread fruit evenly in the bottom of the dish.
  4. In a bowl, mix flour and sugar together.
  5. Sprinkle dry mixture evenly over the fruit.
  6. Pour melted butter evenly over the top.
  7. Bake for 40–45 minutes, until golden and bubbly.
  8. Cool slightly before serving.
Serving Tip: Best served warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
