This Cilantro-Lime Avocado Salsa is creamy, zesty, and packed with bright Mexican flavors. Perfect as a dip for chips, a topping for tacos, or drizzled over grilled meats. Refreshing, tangy, and unbelievably smooth! 🌮💚

Ingredients

  • 6 tomatillos
  • 1 jalapeño (optional, for added spice)
  • 2 avocados
  • A handful of fresh cilantro
  • 1/2 cup crema mexicana
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon chicken bouillon powder
  • 1 tablespoon salt (or to taste)
  • Juice of 2 limes
  • 1/4 of a white onion
  • About 1 cup of boiling water from the tomatillos and jalapeño

Directions

  1. Boil: In a saucepan, boil the tomatillos and jalapeño (if using) for about 10 minutes until softened.
  2. Blend: In a blender, combine avocados, cilantro, crema mexicana, minced garlic, bouillon, salt, lime juice, and onion.
  3. Add heat: Once tomatillos and jalapeño are done, add them to the blender along with 1 cup of the boiling water.
  4. Puree: Blend until smooth and creamy. Adjust salt or lime juice to taste.
  5. Serve: Enjoy immediately as a dip with tortilla chips or drizzle over tacos, enchiladas, or grilled meats.

💡 Tips & Variations

  • For a thicker salsa, reduce the boiling water to ½ cup.
  • Add an extra jalapeño or serrano pepper for a spicier kick. 🌶️
  • Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days — best served chilled!
