Cheesy Hamburger & Potato Casserole

“I’ve been making this for about a year now… Everyone calls it ‘crack’ because they can’t stop eating it!”

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef
  • 5–6 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp butter (for greasing)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish with butter.
  2. In a skillet, cook the ground beef with diced onion until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Season beef with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together the cream of mushroom soup and milk until smooth.
  5. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the baking dish.
  6. Spoon half of the cooked ground beef over the potatoes.
  7. Pour half of the soup mixture on top, then sprinkle with cheese.
  8. Repeat layers: potatoes → beef → soup → cheese.
  9. Cover with foil and bake for 1 hour.
  10. Remove foil and bake an additional 20 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  11. Let rest 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy!

Notes:

  • You can substitute cream of chicken soup for a lighter flavor.
  • Add jalapeños or chili flakes for a spicy kick.
  • For extra creaminess, mix in 1/2 cup sour cream with the soup mixture.

Servings: 6–8
