Cilantro-Lime Avocado Salsa 🥑🌿
This Cilantro-Lime Avocado Salsa is creamy, zesty, and packed with bright Mexican flavors. Perfect as a dip for chips, a topping for tacos, or drizzled over grilled meats. Refreshing, tangy, and unbelievably smooth! 🌮💚
Ingredients
- 6 tomatillos
- 1 jalapeño (optional, for added spice)
- 2 avocados
- A handful of fresh cilantro
- 1/2 cup crema mexicana
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon chicken bouillon powder
- 1 tablespoon salt (or to taste)
- Juice of 2 limes
- 1/4 of a white onion
- About 1 cup of boiling water from the tomatillos and jalapeño
Directions
- Boil: In a saucepan, boil the tomatillos and jalapeño (if using) for about 10 minutes until softened.
- Blend: In a blender, combine avocados, cilantro, crema mexicana, minced garlic, bouillon, salt, lime juice, and onion.
- Add heat: Once tomatillos and jalapeño are done, add them to the blender along with 1 cup of the boiling water.
- Puree: Blend until smooth and creamy. Adjust salt or lime juice to taste.
- Serve: Enjoy immediately as a dip with tortilla chips or drizzle over tacos, enchiladas, or grilled meats.
💡 Tips & Variations
- For a thicker salsa, reduce the boiling water to ½ cup.
- Add an extra jalapeño or serrano pepper for a spicier kick. 🌶️
