Sausage, Rich Gravy, and Biscuit Pie

Sausage, Rich Gravy, and Biscuit Pie 🤤
“Flaky, golden pie crust layered with creamy sausage gravy — comfort food at its finest!”

This indulgent pie combines savory sausage, creamy gravy, and buttery biscuit crust for a Southern-inspired dish that’s rich, hearty, and irresistible. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or dinner!
Ingredients
- 1 lb sausage
 - 2 cups milk
 - 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
 - 1 teaspoon salt
 - 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
 - 1 teaspoon butter
 - 1 refrigerated pie crust (top and bottom layers)
 - 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
 - In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned and crumbled. Drain any excess grease.
 - Stir in butter and flour, cooking for 1–2 minutes to make a roux.
 - Gradually add the milk, stirring continuously until a thick, creamy gravy forms. Season with salt and pepper. Let cool slightly.
 - Place one pie crust in the bottom of a 9-inch pie dish. Pour the sausage gravy mixture over it evenly.
 - Top with the second pie crust and crimp the edges to seal. Cut small slits in the top to allow steam to escape.
 - Brush the top crust with beaten egg for a golden finish.
 - Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and flaky.
 - Allow to rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving warm.

Tip: For extra flavor, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the gravy layer before sealing the pie!
