- 1 cup yellow cornmeal
 - 1 cup all-purpose flour
 - 1/4 cup granulated sugar
 - 1 tablespoon baking powder

 - 2 large eggs
 - 1 cup buttermilk
 - 1/3 cup melted butter
 - 1 tablespoon vegetable oil (for greasing the skillet)
 
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven and Skillet: Begin by preheating your oven to 400°F (204°C). Place a 10-inch cast iron skillet inside to heat as you prepare the batter.
 - Mix the Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
 - Combine the Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, beat together the eggs, buttermilk, and melted butter until smooth.
 - Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Create a well in the center of the dry mixture, then pour in the wet ingredients. Gently stir until just combined—be careful not to overmix.
 - Prepare the Skillet: Using oven mitts, carefully remove the hot skillet from the oven. Add the vegetable oil, swirling it around to coat the bottom and sides of the skillet evenly.
