- 1 cup butter (do not substitute)
- 2 cups packed dark brown sugar
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 4 tablespoons whipping cream
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon salt (or more to taste)
Directions

- Combine: Add brown sugar and corn syrup. Stir until sugar dissolves.
- Add milk: Mix in the sweetened condensed milk and cook, stirring constantly, until smooth and thick.
- Simmer: Let it gently boil for 10–12 minutes until golden and glossy.
- Finish: Stir in whipping cream, vanilla, and salt. Adjust salt to taste.
- Serve: Pour warm caramel into jars. Use immediately or refrigerate.
Tips 💡
- Use dark brown sugar for a deeper caramel flavor.
- Stir constantly to avoid burning—caramel thickens quickly.
- For salted caramel, increase salt to 1½ teaspoons.
