Southern Pecan Pie Bread Pudding 🤎

    Perfect for mornings or holiday gatherings.
  
Ingredients
- 1 loaf French bread (or 8 cups cubed bread)
- 1½ cups milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 4 large eggs
- 1½ cups brown sugar
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- ½ cup melted butter
- 1½ cups pecan halves
- Pinch of salt
Pecan Pie Topping
- ½ cup butter (melted)
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven: Set to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13″ baking dish.
- Prepare bread base: Cube the bread and spread evenly in the dish.
- Make custard: In a large bowl, whisk together milk, cream, eggs, brown sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon. Pour evenly over bread. Let it soak for 10–15 minutes.
- Add topping: In another bowl, mix melted butter, brown sugar, eggs, pecans, and vanilla. Spread evenly over the soaked bread mixture.
- Bake: Bake uncovered for 45–50 minutes or until golden and set in the center.
- Cool slightly: Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving warm.
