Southern Candied Sweet Potato Bites

🍠 Southern Candied Sweet Potato Bites

A nostalgic Southern classic made just like our moms and grandmas used to make.
Sweet, buttery, caramelized bites that melt in your mouth.

Ingredients

  • 4 large sweet potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • ½ cup butter
  • Âľ cup brown sugar
  • ÂĽ cup white sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp nutmeg (optional)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Place cubed sweet potatoes into a greased baking dish.
  3. In a saucepan, melt butter over low heat.
  4. Add brown sugar, white sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, and salt.
  5. Stir until smooth and syrupy.
  6. Pour the sauce evenly over the sweet potatoes.
  7. Toss gently to coat.
  8. Bake uncovered for 45–55 minutes, stirring once halfway.
  9. Remove when potatoes are tender and deeply caramelized.
