Ingredients
- 3 ΒΎ cups powdered sugar (plus extra for dusting)
- β cup sweetened condensed milk
- Β½ teaspoon peppermint extract
- Red and green food coloring (gel preferred)
- Granulated sugar (for coating)
Instructions
- Prepare the Base Mixture: In a large bowl, combine powdered sugar, condensed milk, and peppermint extract. Stir until a soft dough forms.
- Knead Until Smooth: Dust your surface with powdered sugar and knead the dough until smooth. Adjust with more sugar or condensed milk as needed.
- Divide and Color: Split the dough into three parts β one white, one tinted red, and one green. Knead each until color is evenly distributed.
- Shape the Mints: Roll each color into ropes (Β½ inch thick), cut into bite-sized pieces, and shape as desired.
- Coat and Dry: Roll in granulated sugar, place on parchment paper, and air dry 24 hours uncovered until firm but soft inside.
- Store: Keep in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
