Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak
Tender homemade beef patties slowly simmer in a rich onion and beef broth gravy until they practically fall apart. This classic comfort food is perfect served over mashed potatoes, rice, or buttered egg noodles.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs ground beef (80/20)
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 packet onion soup mix
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp cold water (optional, for thickening)
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Shape the ground beef into 4–6 thick oval patties.
- Place the patties in the slow cooker and sprinkle the diced onion over the top.
- Whisk together the beef broth, onion soup mix, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and black pepper.
- Pour the broth mixture over the patties.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 6–7 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours.
- If you prefer a thicker gravy, stir together the cornstarch and cold water, add it to the slow cooker during the last 20 minutes, and cook until thickened.
- Serve hot over mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles.
