These sliced baked potatoes, prepared in a Hasselback style, are a true culinary delight. While they’re not fully baked when first sliced, the vertical cuts from top to bottom allow them to roast beautifully. Once roasted to a golden brown perfection, they make a stunning addition to any plate. Potatoes are one of the most versatile side dishes, complementing any meat entrée seamlessly. Ingredients:

  • 4 medium Russet potatoes (or any preferred variety)
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ⅛ tsp black pepper
  • ⅛ tsp cayenne pepper
  • ⅛ tsp garlic powder
  • ⅛ tsp paprika
  • 4 to 6 tbsp olive oil

Preparation:

  1. Wash and thoroughly dry the potatoes.
  2. Slice each potato carefully, cutting no more than halfway down. For added crispiness, try slicing at a slight angle.
  3. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  4. In a small bowl, mix together the salt, pepper, cayenne, garlic powder, and paprika.

  7. Place the potatoes on a parchment-lined baking tray.
  8. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
