Salisbury Steak with Garlic Mashed Potatoes & Mushroom-Onion Gravy

Ingredients – Salisbury Steak
- 1 ½ lbs ground beef
- ½ cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Ingredients – Mushroom Onion Gravy
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups beef broth
- Salt and pepper to taste
Ingredients – Garlic Mashed Potatoes
- 4 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 3 cloves garlic
- ½ cup milk or cream
- 3 tablespoons butter
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Boil potatoes with garlic until fork-tender. Drain and mash with butter, milk, and salt. Set aside.
- In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, seasonings, salt, and pepper.
- Form into oval patties.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Brown patties on both sides, then remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté onions and mushrooms until soft.
- Sprinkle in flour and stir for 1 minute.
- Slowly add beef broth, stirring until gravy thickens.
- Return patties to skillet and simmer for 10–15 minutes.
- Serve Salisbury steak and gravy over garlic mashed potatoes.
