Ritz Ham & Cheese Party Bites (Poppy-Seed Glaze)

“Made these for my son’s birthday—gone in minutes! Cheddar works great too.”

Ingredients

  • 72 Ritz-style butter crackers
  • 8 oz sliced deli ham, cut to cracker size
  • 8 oz Swiss or cheddar cheese, sliced
  • 6 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp honey or brown sugar (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp poppy seeds
  • Pinch of salt & black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F / 175°C. Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Arrange half the crackers in the dish. Top each with ham and cheese; cap with remaining crackers to form mini sandwiches.
  3. Whisk together melted butter, Dijon, Worcestershire, honey, garlic powder, onion powder, poppy seeds, salt & pepper.
  4. Brush or spoon glaze over the tops. Rest 5 minutes to soak in.
  5. Bake 10–12 minutes until melty and lightly golden. Serve warm.

Tips & Variations

  • Add a dab of honey mustard or pepper jelly inside for sweet heat.
  • Use turkey/provolone or roast beef/horseradish cheese for variety.
  • For extra crisp tops, broil 30–60 seconds at the end—watch closely.
