Ritz Ham & Cheese Party Bites (Poppy-Seed Glaze)
“Made these for my son’s birthday—gone in minutes! Cheddar works great too.”
Ingredients
- 72 Ritz-style butter crackers
- 8 oz sliced deli ham, cut to cracker size
- 8 oz Swiss or cheddar cheese, sliced
- 6 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp honey or brown sugar (optional)
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1 tbsp poppy seeds
- Pinch of salt & black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F / 175°C. Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Arrange half the crackers in the dish. Top each with ham and cheese; cap with remaining crackers to form mini sandwiches.
- Whisk together melted butter, Dijon, Worcestershire, honey, garlic powder, onion powder, poppy seeds, salt & pepper.
- Brush or spoon glaze over the tops. Rest 5 minutes to soak in.
- Bake 10–12 minutes until melty and lightly golden. Serve warm.
Tips & Variations
- Add a dab of honey mustard or pepper jelly inside for sweet heat.
- Use turkey/provolone or roast beef/horseradish cheese for variety.
- For extra crisp tops, broil 30–60 seconds at the end—watch closely.
