Oven-Baked Sausages with Caramelized Onions

Juicy sausages baked in the oven with sweet, caramelized onions — simple, hands-off, and absolutely transformative.

Ingredients:

  • 8–10 sausages (pork, chicken, or beef)
  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 cup beef or chicken broth (optional, for extra juiciness)
  • Fresh parsley or thyme (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Spread sliced onions on the tray, drizzle with olive oil, add butter, salt, and pepper.
  4. Place sausages on top of the onions.
  5. Sprinkle garlic powder over everything.
  6. Pour broth into the pan if using.
  7. Bake for 35–40 minutes, turning sausages halfway, until golden and cooked through.
  8. Garnish with fresh herbs before serving.

Serving ideas: Mashed potatoes, crusty bread, or over rice.

Tip: The onions soak up all the sausage flavor — don’t skip them!
