Old-Fashioned Coconut Cream Dessert

Ingredients

  • 1 prepared graham cracker or biscuit crust
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 3 egg yolks
  • ¼ cup cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup shredded coconut (sweetened)
  • 1½ cups whipped cream
  • ½ cup toasted coconut (for topping)

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, whisk milk, coconut milk, sugar, egg yolks, and cornstarch.
  2. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thick and creamy.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in butter and vanilla.
  4. Fold in shredded coconut.
  5. Pour the filling into the prepared crust.
  6. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, until fully set.
  7. Top with whipped cream and sprinkle toasted coconut on top.

Slice cold for clean cuts. Perfect for holidays, family gatherings,
or when you crave a nostalgic homemade dessert.
