🥖 No-Oven Stovetop Bread

Dreaming of warm, crusty bread but don’t have an oven? This stovetop bread recipe is your lifesaver! Soft on the inside, golden on the outside — made right in a pan. Perfect for lazy weekends or when you crave that “freshly baked” aroma without heating up the kitchen.

🧾 You Will Need

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons instant yeast
  • ¾ cup warm water (about 110°F / 43°C)
  • 2 tablespoons oil or melted butter

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, salt, and instant yeast.
  2. Add warm water and oil, then knead until the dough becomes smooth and elastic (about 8–10 minutes).
  3. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm spot for 45–60 minutes or until doubled in size.
  4. Punch down the dough and shape it into a round loaf.
  5. Heat a heavy-bottomed non-stick or cast-iron pan over very low heat and lightly grease it.
  6. Place the dough in the pan, cover with a lid, and cook on low heat for about 15 minutes.
  7. Flip carefully, cover again, and cook for another 10–15 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
  8. Brush with butter while warm for a glossy finish and soft crust.
💡 Tip: Add herbs, garlic powder, or grated cheese to the dough for extra flavor. This bread stays soft for 2–3 days if stored in an airtight container.
