No-Oven Stovetop Bread Recipe

🥖 No-Oven Stovetop Bread
Dreaming of warm, crusty bread but don’t have an oven? This stovetop bread recipe is your lifesaver! Soft on the inside, golden on the outside — made right in a pan. Perfect for lazy weekends or when you crave that “freshly baked” aroma without heating up the kitchen.
🧾 You Will Need
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons instant yeast
- ¾ cup warm water (about 110°F / 43°C)
- 2 tablespoons oil or melted butter
👩🍳 Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, salt, and instant yeast.
- Add warm water and oil, then knead until the dough becomes smooth and elastic (about 8–10 minutes).
- Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm spot for 45–60 minutes or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough and shape it into a round loaf.
- Heat a heavy-bottomed non-stick or cast-iron pan over very low heat and lightly grease it.
- Place the dough in the pan, cover with a lid, and cook on low heat for about 15 minutes.
- Flip carefully, cover again, and cook for another 10–15 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
- Brush with butter while warm for a glossy finish and soft crust.
💡 Tip: Add herbs, garlic powder, or grated cheese to the dough for extra flavor. This bread stays soft for 2–3 days if stored in an airtight container.
