Nana’s Old-Fashioned Pecan Apple Loaf 🍏🥧
A super moist, nostalgic loaf filled with apples and pecans — a true family favorite!
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil (or melted butter)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup buttermilk (or 1 cup milk + 1 tbsp vinegar)
- 1 1/2 cups chopped apples
- 1 cup chopped pecans (plus extra for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk the eggs, oil, vanilla, and buttermilk.
- Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and mix gently until combined.
- Fold in the chopped apples and pecans.
- Pour into the loaf pan and top with extra pecans.
- Bake for 55–65 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool before slicing. Enjoy!
Tips
- Add 1 tsp cinnamon or 1/4 tsp nutmeg for warm spice.
- Swap pecans with walnuts if preferred.
- Drizzle with caramel sauce for extra sweetness!
