Nana’s Old-Fashioned Pecan Apple Loaf 🍏🥧

A super moist, nostalgic loaf filled with apples and pecans — a true family favorite!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil (or melted butter)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup buttermilk (or 1 cup milk + 1 tbsp vinegar)
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped apples
  • 1 cup chopped pecans (plus extra for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk the eggs, oil, vanilla, and buttermilk.
  4. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and mix gently until combined.
  5. Fold in the chopped apples and pecans.
  6. Pour into the loaf pan and top with extra pecans.
  7. Bake for 55–65 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Let cool before slicing. Enjoy!

Tips

  • Add 1 tsp cinnamon or 1/4 tsp nutmeg for warm spice.
  • Swap pecans with walnuts if preferred.
  • Drizzle with caramel sauce for extra sweetness!
