Ingredients

  • 1 kg pork shoulder or pork leg
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 large onions, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup white wine
  • Salt & black pepper to taste
  • Fresh thyme or rosemary

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Season pork with salt, pepper, and herbs.
  3. Sear pork in a hot pan until browned on all sides.
  4. Transfer to a roasting pan.
  5. Sauté onions until slightly caramelized, then add garlic.
  6. Add onions to the pan with pork.
  7. Drizzle honey over pork and pour in white wine.
  8. Cover with foil and roast for about 2 hours.
  9. Baste occasionally for extra flavor.
  10. Uncover last 15 minutes to caramelize the top.
  11. Let rest before slicing and serving.
