Cream Cheese Sugar Cookies

🧾 Ingredients

  • ¾ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1¼ cups granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • Extra sugar for rolling (optional)

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, cream cheese, and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until fully combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  6. If desired, roll dough balls in extra sugar.
  7. Place dough balls onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are set but not browned.
  9. Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
