Honey Butter Skillet Corn: A Quick and Delicious Side Dish

Honey Butter Skillet Corn is a simple and flavorful 15-minute side dish made with just a handful of ingredients: frozen corn, honey, butter, and cream cheese. It’s incredibly creamy, slightly sweet, and absolutely deliciousā€”a perfect complement to any meal!

Living in the Midwest, we are fortunate to enjoy fresh and flavorful corn, especially during mid-summer when local farmers sell it directly from their fields. This recipe captures the sweetness of corn in a rich and creamy dish that’s perfect for busy weeknights or any occasion.

Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons salted butter
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 bag (16 oz) frozen corn
  • 2 ounces cream cheese, cut into chunks
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions:

  1. Melt the butter and honey: In a skillet over medium-high heat, melt the butter and honey together.
  2. Cook the corn: Add the frozen corn and cook for 5-8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the corn is heated through.
  3. Add the creaminess: Stir in the cream cheese, salt, and pepper. Continue cooking for an additional 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cream cheese is fully melted and the dish is creamy.
  4. Serve: Enjoy immediately. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Notes:

This recipe makes about 6 servings, but if you’re serving young children, you might be able to stretch it to 8 servings.

While “gold nā€™ white” corn is recommended for its sweetness, any frozen corn will work. Just make sure to use a 16 oz (1 lb) bag.
