Homemade Apple Cake 🍏

Description: A delicious, soft apple cake made in just one bowl. It takes less than 15 minutes to get into the oven and fills your kitchen with warm cinnamon aroma.

Ingredients

  • 3 large apples, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil (or melted butter)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg (optional)
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8 or 9×9 baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, oil, and vanilla.
  3. Add flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Mix just until combined.
  4. Fold in the sliced apples until all pieces are coated in the batter.
  5. Pour into the baking pan and spread evenly.
  6. Bake 40–50 minutes or until the top is golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Let cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar if desired.

Notes

  • Use a mix of sweet and tart apples for the best flavor.
  • Add chopped walnuts or pecans for crunch.
  • Tastes even better the next day as the flavors deepen.
