Homemade Apple Cake 🍏
Description: A delicious, soft apple cake made in just one bowl. It takes less than 15 minutes to get into the oven and fills your kitchen with warm cinnamon aroma.
Ingredients
- 3 large apples, peeled and thinly sliced
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil (or melted butter)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg (optional)
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8 or 9×9 baking pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, oil, and vanilla.
- Add flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Mix just until combined.
- Fold in the sliced apples until all pieces are coated in the batter.
- Pour into the baking pan and spread evenly.
- Bake 40–50 minutes or until the top is golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar if desired.
Notes
- Use a mix of sweet and tart apples for the best flavor.
- Add chopped walnuts or pecans for crunch.
- Tastes even better the next day as the flavors deepen.
