Grandma’s Slow Cooker Shredded Beef & Gravy

Grandma’s Slow Cooker Shredded Beef & Gravy
I cannot believe I finally found this recipe!
My grandma used to make this for holiday gatherings, and I would sneak bites whenever I could.
Rich, savory, and deeply comforting — a true old-fashioned guilty pleasure.
Ingredients
- 2–3 lbs beef chuck roast
- 1 packet onion soup mix
- 1 packet brown gravy mix
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Place the sliced onions evenly in the bottom of the slow cooker.
- Place the beef roast on top of the onions.
- Sprinkle the onion soup mix and gravy mix over the beef.
- Pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 8–9 hours or HIGH for 5–6 hours, until the beef is fall-apart tender.
- Shred the beef directly in the slow cooker using two forks.
- Stir well to coat the meat with the thick, rich gravy.
Serving Suggestions
- Serve over mashed potatoes
- Perfect with rice, egg noodles, or buttered bread
- Great for family dinners or holiday gatherings
Tips
- For thicker gravy, leave the lid off for the last 20 minutes.
- Add mushrooms for extra depth.
- Tastes even better the next day!
Classic. Cozy. Pure comfort food — just like Grandma made. ❤️
