🍑 Grandma’s Old-Fashioned Peach Cobbler
My grandma used to cook this, and I feared the recipe was lost.
Thankfully, I stumbled upon it — and it’s tastier than ever!
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup milk
- 2 cups sliced peaches (fresh or canned, drained)
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Place butter in a baking dish and melt it in the oven.
- In a bowl, mix sugar, flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Stir in milk and vanilla until smooth.
- Pour batter over melted butter — do not stir.
- Evenly spread peaches on top of the batter.
- Sprinkle cinnamon if using.
- Bake for 40–45 minutes until golden and set.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Serve warm on its own or with vanilla ice cream for the full grandma-style comfort dessert experience.
