🍎 Grandma’s Apple Strudel

“This is my grandma’s apple strudel recipe passed down,
and I’m sorry — I don’t make it any other way.
This is the way I like it.”

This classic apple strudel features tender cinnamon apples wrapped in
buttery, flaky pastry. Simple ingredients, timeless flavor, and pure
comfort in every bite — just like grandma used to make.

Ingredients

  • 2 sheets puff pastry, thawed
  • 4 large apples, peeled and diced
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • ¼ cup melted butter
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Powdered sugar (optional, for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and cornstarch.
  3. Roll puff pastry onto a lightly floured surface.
  4. Spoon apple mixture down the center of the pastry.
  5. Fold pastry over filling and seal edges.
  6. Brush top with melted butter and egg wash.
  7. Bake for 35–40 minutes until golden and flaky.
  8. Cool slightly, slice, and serve.
Grandma’s Tip:
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or a dusting of powdered sugar —
and don’t rush it. This dessert deserves to be enjoyed slowly ❤️
