This classic apple strudel features tender cinnamon apples wrapped in
buttery, flaky pastry. Simple ingredients, timeless flavor, and pure
comfort in every bite — just like grandma used to make.
Ingredients
- 2 sheets puff pastry, thawed
- 4 large apples, peeled and diced
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- ¼ cup melted butter
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Powdered sugar (optional, for serving)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a bowl, mix apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and cornstarch.
- Roll puff pastry onto a lightly floured surface.
- Spoon apple mixture down the center of the pastry.
- Fold pastry over filling and seal edges.
- Brush top with melted butter and egg wash.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes until golden and flaky.
- Cool slightly, slice, and serve.
