🧾 Ingredients
For the cake dough:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ cup sugar
- 2 large eggs
- ½ cup softened butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- 2–3 tbsp milk (if needed)
For the cream filling:
- 2 cups cold heavy whipping cream
- 16 oz (450 g) cream cheese, softened
- ½ cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Zest of 1 lemon (optional)
For topping:
- Powdered sugar for dusting
👩🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ Make the Dough
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
- Add butter, eggs, and vanilla, then mix until a soft dough forms.
- Divide dough into two portions (larger for bottom, smaller for top).
- Press the larger portion into the bottom of a 9-inch round cake pan.
2️⃣ Prepare the Cream Filling
- Whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
- In another bowl, beat cream cheese with powdered sugar and vanilla.
- Fold whipped cream into the cheese mixture until smooth and fluffy.
- Spread the cream filling over the dough in the pan.
3️⃣ Add Top Crust & Bake
- Crumble the remaining dough on top (don’t press — keep it rustic).
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 35–40 minutes until lightly golden.
- Let cool completely, then dust with powdered sugar.
