Perfect for parties, game nights, or a cozy family dinner.
Ingredients
- 1 loaf French or Italian bread
- 1 lb (500 g) ground beef
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup cooked bacon, chopped
- ¼ cup ketchup or pizza sauce
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- ½ tsp paprika (optional)
- 1 tbsp melted butter
- Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
-
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and onion until browned.
Add garlic, salt, pepper, and paprika. Drain excess fat. - Stir in ketchup (or pizza sauce) and cooked bacon. Remove from heat.
-
Slice the bread lengthwise without cutting all the way through.
Hollow out a little of the center to make room for the filling. - Fill the bread with the beef mixture, then top with cheddar and mozzarella cheese.
-
Place on a baking tray, brush the top with melted butter, and bake at
350°F (180°C) for 20–25 minutes, until golden and bubbly. - Let cool slightly, slice, garnish with parsley, and serve warm.
Tip: Add jalapeños, pickles, or swap beef for sausage to make it your own!
