Garbage Bread Recipe


🥖🧀 Garbage Bread

Don’t let the name fool you! This stuffed bread is cheesy, savory, and absolutely irresistible.
Perfect for parties, game nights, or a cozy family dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf French or Italian bread
  • 1 lb (500 g) ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup cooked bacon, chopped
  • ¼ cup ketchup or pizza sauce
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • ½ tsp paprika (optional)
  • 1 tbsp melted butter
  • Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and onion until browned.
    Add garlic, salt, pepper, and paprika. Drain excess fat.
  2. Stir in ketchup (or pizza sauce) and cooked bacon. Remove from heat.
  3. Slice the bread lengthwise without cutting all the way through.
    Hollow out a little of the center to make room for the filling.
  4. Fill the bread with the beef mixture, then top with cheddar and mozzarella cheese.
  5. Place on a baking tray, brush the top with melted butter, and bake at
    350°F (180°C) for 20–25 minutes, until golden and bubbly.
  6. Let cool slightly, slice, garnish with parsley, and serve warm.
Tip: Add jalapeños, pickles, or swap beef for sausage to make it your own!
