Garbage Bread (Cheesy Beef Roll)

“Garbage Bread” (Cheesy Beef Roll) 🧀🥖

This is called “Garbage Bread” but it tastes like pure gold!
A cheesy, savory beef-filled roll that’s crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside — perfect for parties or game nights.

Prep: 15 mins
Cook: 25 mins
Total: 40 mins
Serves: 6–8

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 yellow bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (or mozzarella)
  • 1 pizza dough or crescent roll sheet
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (for cooking)
  • 1 egg (beaten, for brushing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil and sauté onion and peppers until softened.
  3. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Season with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Drain excess fat.
  4. Roll out the pizza dough into a large rectangle. Spread the beef mixture evenly over the dough, leaving about 1 inch of border on all sides.
  5. Sprinkle cheese generously over the top.
  6. Roll the dough tightly from one end like a jelly roll, sealing the edges by pinching the seams.
  7. Place seam side down on the baking sheet. Brush the top with beaten egg for a golden finish.
  8. Bake for 20–25 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
  9. Let it cool for 5 minutes, then slice into rounds and serve warm with marinara or ranch dipping sauce.
Tip: Add cooked bacon, jalapeños, or sautéed mushrooms for extra flavor!
Great to make ahead — just reheat in the oven for a few minutes before serving.
