Fluffy Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

Moist, fluffy, and loaded with chocolate chips — the ultimate banana bread comfort bake.

Ingredients

  • 1¾ cups all-purpose flour (215 g)
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • Pinch of ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp allspice
  • ¼ tsp cardamom
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 2 tbsp plain yogurt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed (about 1½ cups)
  • 1½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a loaf pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and spices.
  3. In another bowl, cream butter with granulated and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in yogurt, mashed bananas, and vanilla.
  5. Gradually fold dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Gently stir in chocolate chips.
  7. Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 55–65 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Let cool completely before slicing for best texture.
Bake Time: 60 minutes
Servings: 10–12 slices

Tips:

  • Use very ripe bananas for the best flavor.
  • Do not overmix to keep the bread fluffy.
