Easy Foil Packet Steak & Potatoes


Foil Packet Steak & Potatoes

Layer onions and just two simple ingredients with steak for a baked meal
you’ll never get tired of. Juicy steak, tender potatoes, and sweet onions —
all cooked together in foil for easy prep and cleanup.

Ingredients

  • 1 beef steak (ribeye, sirloin, or chuck)
  • 2 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Optional: garlic powder or steak seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Lay out a large sheet of aluminum foil.
  3. Arrange sliced potatoes in the center of the foil.
  4. Place the steak on top of the potatoes.
  5. Season steak with salt, pepper, and optional seasoning.
  6. Add sliced onions on top of the steak.
  7. Dot everything with butter.
  8. Fold the foil tightly to seal and create a packet.
  9. Bake for 45–55 minutes, until potatoes are tender and steak is cooked.
  10. Carefully open foil and serve hot.
Tip: For a golden finish, open the foil during the last
5 minutes and place under the broiler.
