Crispy Honey Garlic Chicken 🍯🍗🌿

Golden, crunchy chicken tossed in a sticky-sweet garlic glaze—better than takeout and ready fast.

Perfect with steamed rice or noodles and a sprinkle of sesame seeds.

Ingredients

  • 500 g boneless chicken thighs or breast, cut into pieces
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying

Honey Garlic Sauce

  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar or lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp cornstarch + 1 tbsp water

Time & Yield

  • Prep: 15 minutes
  • Cook: 20 minutes
  • Total: 35 minutes
  • Serves: 4

Tips

  • Double-fry for extra crunch: refry 1–2 minutes after the first fry.
  • Air fryer: spray coated chicken with oil and cook at 390°F/200°C for 12–14 minutes, turning once.
  • Add chili flakes or sriracha for heat.

Instructions

  1. Season & Coat: Season chicken with salt and pepper. Dip in egg, then coat with cornstarch.
  2. Fry: Fry in hot oil until golden and cooked through; drain on a rack.
  3. Sauce: Melt butter; sauté garlic briefly. Add honey, soy sauce, and vinegar; bring to a simmer. Stir in slurry and cook until thick and glossy.
  4. Toss: Add chicken to the pan and toss to coat evenly. Serve immediately.
