Golden, crunchy, and irresistible — these homemade chicken strips will beat fast food any day!
Ingredients
- 1 lb (450 g) boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into strips 🍗
- 1 cup all-purpose flour 🌾
- 2 tsp garlic powder 🧄
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp paprika 🌶️
- ½ tsp salt 🧂
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 2 large eggs 🥚
- 2 tbsp milk 🥛
- Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)
Instructions
- Prepare chicken: Cut chicken breasts into even strips and pat dry with paper towels.
- Seasoned flour: In a shallow bowl, mix flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- Egg wash: In another bowl, beat eggs with milk until smooth.
- Coat strips: Dredge chicken in flour, dip in egg wash, then back into flour for a double coating.
- Fry: Heat oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry strips in batches for 5–6 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Ensure internal temp reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Drain & serve: Place on paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve hot with ketchup, ranch, or dipping sauce.
Notes & Tips
Extra crunchy: Double dip in flour for an even crispier crust.
Baked version: Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 18–20 minutes, flipping halfway, for a lighter option.
