Ingredients
- 4 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 1 cup green peas (fresh or frozen)
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 1/4 cups warm milk
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder (optional)
- Chopped parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- Boil the potatoes in salted water until fork-tender (about 10–12 minutes). Add peas in the last 3 minutes. Drain well.
- In a separate saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute to form a roux.
- Gradually whisk in the warm milk until a smooth, creamy sauce forms.
- Season with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder if desired.
- Gently fold in the cooked potatoes and peas until evenly coated in sauce.
- Sprinkle with chopped parsley and serve hot.
Tips 🍽️
- For richer flavor, use half milk and half heavy cream.
- Add a pinch of nutmeg for a subtle warmth.
