🥔 Cheesy Beef & Potato Casserole
“I’ve finally found this recipe! I used to enjoy it at my neighbor’s when I was a kid,
and now I realize hardly anyone knows about it. Made it for my family, and it was
completely devoured the first night!”
📝 Ingredients
- 1 lb (450g) ground beef
- 5–6 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese
- 1 cup heavy cream OR 1 can cream of mushroom/chicken soup
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp olive oil
🔥 Directions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet, heat olive oil and cook the ground beef until browned.
- Add onion and garlic, cook until softened. Season with paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Grease a baking dish and arrange a layer of sliced potatoes on the bottom.
- Spread half of the cooked beef mixture over the potatoes.
- Repeat layers (potatoes → beef).
- Pour the heavy cream (or canned soup) evenly over the top.
- Cover with foil and bake for 40 minutes.
- Remove foil, add cheese on top, and bake another 10–15 minutes until golden.
